But, how to ensure our dog’s coat as soft and as fluffy as a little cloud? By following our tips, for sure!

The brushing

As compared to the straight one, the curly coat could scare at first sight and give the idea to be difficult to brush.

Luckily it’s not like that: curly-haired dogs’ brushing it’s not hard, it’s just important to know how to do it properly.

Brushing the curly-haired coat it’s really important since knots tend to easily develop in this kind of hair. Knots are caused by fallen dead hair which get stuck in their coat, otherwise they can also be caused by rubble and dirt.

How to remove them? First of all by brushing – soon we’ll see how – but also by using specific products, like the Glossing and Detangling Spray by Yuup!, a biphasic detangler which does not require rinsing.

Brushing requires two specifical equipments:

  • a grooming brush, ideal to open the hair and to remove knots without scratching the skin;
  • a wide tooth comb, suitable to remove impurities and to straighten dog coat.

Brush through the grooming brush all over the body of your four-legged friend, starting from the skin and arriving until the hair peak with a zigzag movement that simplifies knots detangling. Later, brush the dog against the grain, and pay attention to use the wide tooth comb in all the hair length and not just in the surface in order to avoid its felting.

This process must be repeated at least twice a week in order to assure the desired softness effect.

The washing

And how to proceed if our pet also needs a bathing?

If we want to wash a curly-haired dog, we firstly need to check that he hasn’t knots: prepare here too a grooming brush and use it in all over the body to open the hair and to find the knots. Later, use the comb until it combs straight without getting stuck. Only in this way we can be sure that there are no more knots.

Later it’s the time of the real washing, with not too hot water and through the correct products. The Volume and Curly Kit of Yuup! contains all the perfect products for coats that need lightness, volume and support: the Volumizing Shampoo, the Volumizing Mask and our trusty Glossing and Detangling Spray.

Once our dog has been properly washed, it comes the time of drying.

Let’s use the grooming brush while we dry with the hairdryer against the grain: in this way the hair will open itself and we will obtain the desired fluffy effect.

Taking care of our four-legged friends also means: to correctly wash and brush our dog by following the proper method according to its coat type.
